Gradual Re-entry (Phase II)

Endeavor House provides a gradual transition phase for clients that are appropriate to return to a work environment with the continual support of groups, individual work, nursing, family work and a halfway house component.  Our clinical team assists clients during this re-entry period with securing employment if none is in place, as well as helping them gain further insight into time management, living skills, and the ability to cope with issues pertinent to their recovery at this stage of treatment.

Emphasis is on the development of a responsible lifestyle including not only employment but also educational needs where appropriate and further development of sober network systems including AA/NA.  Services continue to include structured groups, individuals, family work and nursing, however the client’s treatment day will adjust to work schedules and begin to include group work appropriate to this level of treatment such as relapse prevention.  Halfway House living arrangements may be made in order to provide our clients with safe, sober living situations if specifically needed or requested.

Goals

Written goals are prepared weekly by clients to accomplish and discuss with their counselors, giving clients experience in planning their lives and promoting responsibility. Achievement of planned goals and tasks increases self-confidence and self-worth and shows visible signs of growth. Group work begins to focus on relapse, anger, disease of addiction, stage II of recovery, value clarification, and co-dependency. Our staff conducts weekly workshops designed for the clients to gain insights on self-defeating behaviors and to aid in the clarification and modification of values and attitudes.

Self Awareness and Living Skills

Our staff conducts self awareness of thought and feelings. Workshops include structured exercises designed to help clients recognize things such as personal physiological changes preceding or signaling their use of defense systems (i.e. denial, information discounting). Formal presentations relating to the skills necessary for independent living are made including money management, nutritional practices, self help resources, cooking, public transportation etc.
