Endeavor House of New Jersey

Multi-Family Group

Endeavor House

Endeavor House’s Multi-Family Group program is an essential part of every person’s treatment. This component of treatment is so important that we consider it a requirement for effective treatment. Furthermore, participation in the Multi-Family Group program is a pre-requisite to all onsite and offsite family visits.

The term “family members and significant others” refers to those who have an enduring or significant level of emotional involvement with the client. This includes, but is not limited to: parents, adult children, spouses, unmarried partners, extended family members, friends, and sponsors from 12 Step programs.

What, When, and Where?

The Endeavor House Multi-Family Group program consists of weekly clinician-facilitated groups that meet every week, as outlined below. In order to address questions and concerns, the first portion of the group is attended by parents and significant others only. The second half of the session includes each family’s loved one who is in treatment with us.

Endeavor House South

Monday 6:00-8:00pm
(Endeavor House)

Tuesday 6:00-9:00pm
(Intensive Outpatient)

Endeavor House North

Tuesday 6:00-9:00pm

In the Family Education Program, the group topics that prepare family members for this work include:

  • Codependency/Enabling
  • The Disease Concepts of Addiction
  • The Recovery Process
  • AA, NA, Al-anon and Nar-anon - The 12 step approach
  • Relapse Warning Signs
  • Communication
  • Home Agreement

Please Note: The Multi-Family Group is in place to help support & educate the families. The Group is not in place to set up visits. We ask your family to respect the Family Program rules and protocol.

Endeavor House has designed this program for you because we know the importance of family involvement. When the family embraces the disease of addiction as a family problem, the chances of positive change and recovery are greatly increased.
Addiction to alcohol and substances is difficult to deal with emotionally, mentally, behaviorally and spiritually. Please make every effort to attend and participate in the program. Please discuss family program attendance with your loved one’s counselor. We strongly recommend Nara-non & Ala-non as an excellent support network.

  • Please note all attendees must be drug and alcohol free.
  • Attendees must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Please no more than two family members per session.
  • All sessions are free of charge for family and friends.
